RTP is the share of stakes a game pays back to players over the long run; the rest is the theoretical hold.
Formula
RTP = winnings paid ÷ stakes × 100
Example
A slot with RTP 96.0% pays back €96 of every €100 staked over time; its theoretical hold is 4.0%. (invented numbers)
