Sportsbook gross win margin

Sportsbook margin is the share of the sports handle the operator keeps after settled bets are paid.

Formula

Margin = (stakes − payouts) ÷ stakes × 100

Example

Stakes €1,500,000 and payouts €1,380,000: the margin is 8.0%. (invented numbers)

In IBO

The Sport department plans and enters its GGR; margin follows from GGR and stakes.
